Film Screening
Schedule a special event around the "From Girl to Woman" DVD. There are four separate pieces, ranging in length from 6 to 30 mins. Play them all or pick and choose. Women of all ages appreciate these inspirational films. Be sure to put together an attractive display of the DVDs and enjoy some brisk sales afterwards.

Coming of Age Workshop
The Coming of Age: From Bud to Flower Menarche Kit includes instructions on how to lead a group workshop for women and young girls. There are two different formats: a four-session series and a one-day workshop. Perhaps you have a faculty member, customer or local resource who would enjoy leading a coming of age program that your store sponsors. It is a wonderful community-building event which could be offered seasonally. Each pair of attendees would purchase a kit from your store. Determine what fee, if any, you wish to charge to cover room rental and teacher's honorarium.

*Red Tent Events: Menarche Rite of Passage Ceremony
Celebrating a girl's rite of pasage into womanhood at first menstruation is a life-changing event, not just for the young honoree, but for everyone who attends. These Red Tent events can take place in doors or in nature. Those who attend will be interested in purchasing menarche gifts from your store.

*The term "red tent" is derived from Anita Diamant's book of the same title and refers to the practice of Jewish women of the Old Testament who would gather together each month in their red tent, a special women-only space reserved for women when they were cycling. Today, women througout the world, use the term "red tent" to refer to a place or event that honors women's moontime.
